Welcome to The Healing Power of Art
The Healing Power of Art brings together thirty artists, whose work looks at the way art can heal. A subject that has been particularly important in the last year. This show is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. There is no fee to visit the gallery.

Lesley Gena - Our Judge for The Healing Power of Art
Lesley Gena is an artist and art therapist that currently holds the position of Director of Art Programs at the People’s Resource Center, a non-profit dedicated to helping the DuPage County community. She is also serving as the Executive Director of the Alliance of Fine Art for her sixth consecutive year. Lesley graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a Master of Arts degree and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois.
Lesley has presented on community art making and art therapy at numerous venues including the Renegade Craft Virtual Fair, the Illinois Art Therapy Association, Mount Mary College in Milwaukee and her alma mater, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has also been included in several group art exhibitions throughout the city of Chicago and Pittsburgh.
Lesley’s main artistic areas of focus are painting, animation (both hand drawn and computer) and sound. Music is an integral part of her life as she plays keyboard in a band and studied piano for over twelve years. She resides in Winfield with her husband, a fellow art therapist and ceramicist, and her two children.
