William Worcester


Students will be taught to create original oil paintings. There will be instruction on the fundamentals of painting in oil, including a discussion of the importance of drawing, value, design, composition, and color.

Supplies: A soft lead (2B or softer) pencil Oil Paints (can be regular oil paints or water soluble): Colors: Titanium White Cadmium Lemon Yellow, or Cadmium Yellow Light or Hansa Yellow Cadmium Yellow Medium or Permanent Yellow Medium Cadmium Red Light Quinacridone Red, Alizarin Crimson or Permanent Rose Ultramarine Blue Cerulean or Pthalo Blue Optional: Transparent Red Oxide a 4, 6, 10 synthetic filbert brush 4 11 x 14 canvas panels or canvas taped to a board a triangular metal palette knife a roll of paper towels a painting drop cloth to protect table surface supplies will be explained during first class session
