Using the plating technique on a knitting machine results in interesting fabrics. When plating, 2 yarns are knit together. The fabric produced has 2 different surfaces. The yarns can be different colors, textures or fibers. Plating can also be knit with stitch patterns and ribbing. In class, we will experiment with different yarns and applications. This class is for students who know how to use a knitting machine.


Supplies: Paper, pencil, calculator, scissors, tape measure, tapestry needle. Yarns for projects will be discussed in class. If you have Design-A-Knit installed and operating on a laptop computer, please bring to class.
