MAKING HOLLOW GLASS BEADS

Spend a few hours focusing on making hollow glass beads. During this workshop, students will learn the technique of layering glass onto a mandrel properly and using heat and air to puff up a hollow bead. Once the method is practiced a few times, decorative techniques such as stringer designs and color changes may be added to the beads. The instructor will guide you in the direction of your interests, so bring your ideas for hollow beads or come to class ready to go with the flow.


Supplies: Personal Flamework Glass Working Tools and Didymium Lenses, but we have them on hand that you may use. Sketchbook or note taking materials. Be sure to pull hair back and wear cotton clothing.
