Learn the basic tools and techniques of copper-smithing, using hammers and forge blocks. In this class we will explore different methods and processes used to produce a decorative and functional copper bird bath, copper bowl or 3D copper wall art. Special attention will be paid to repose techniques. Finishing and patina techniques will be demonstrated and discussed as well.
Note: This class requires hammering and other physical activity. Only people with good wrist, arm, shoulder and leg function should attend. Very long hair should be braided or worn back in a ponytail. Prerequisite: Basic Iron Forging 1 and 2, or instructor consent

Supplies: Bring to class a pair of leather work gloves, safety glasses are a must, comfortable leather work-shoes or boots (no sandals), cotton jeans or long pants (NO shorts, sweats, cuffed pants, nylon or polyester anything), note-taking materials, water bottle and bag lunch. You will be getting dirty so dress appropriately.
