This class will explore the art of enameling. In this class, students will use a kiln to create enameled forms. Kiln safety will be discussed. Each session will begin with a demonstration of a specific technique and the remainder of the class will be open to the student’s exploration of that technique, or class time can be used to work on the student’s own desired project. Techniques to be covered include color-blending wet enamels, using stamps to create design elements, using crackle enamels, and using frits. Students should have some prior enameling experience or have taken the Intro to Enameling class.
Supplies: Students must wear closed-toe shoes at all times during class. More detailed supply list will be provided in advance of the class. For now, plan to bring your own paint brushes, tweezers, and craft scissors.
