Chainmaille is usually woven with metal rings but silicone rings can also be used. This class will introduce students to weaving with silicone rings in Byzantine pattern. The combination of metal and silicone produces items that stretch so no clasps are required. Color options will be available so students can create their own designs. We will be working with small rings so bring extra magnification. This class is for those who already know how to weave Byzantine chainmaille.


Supplies: Bring chainmaille pliers if you have them, preferably coated so they do not mar the metal. If you do not have pliers, Fine Line has some available for students to borrow. Bring magnifiers. Jump rings for weaving will be provided.
