This course offers the student an opportunity to create functional and non-functional ceramic artwork through the techniques of pinching, slab building, coiling and molding. Emphasis will be placed on sculptural aesthetic and surface techniques.


Supplies: Basic tool kit (can be found in most craft/hobby store), sponge, drycleaning plastic or other thin wrap, old sheet scrap, stamps or other textural materials, metal ribs (one with teeth is helpful). One bag of clay will be supplied with class. Larger projects may involve purchase of additional clay. Ideas! Look at Pinterest or online for ideas that peak your interest!
