The Great Orb Hunt
Welcome to the Great Orb Hunt
Fine Line Creative Arts Center has teamed up with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County!
This unique event, presented in partnership with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, promises a fun experience for art enthusiasts, nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
The Great Orb Hunt began in 2023, when artists at Fine Line created 100 glass and ceramic orbs that were then hidden at both Fine Line and the Forest Preserve District of Kane County's LeRoy Oakes location. Anyone who found an orb could keep it; we just asked that they register it. The second year, we increased the number of orbs to 150 and added a third location, which in 2024 was Burnidge Forest Preserve in Elgin. In 2025, we hid 150 orbs at Fine Line and LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve and Dick Young Forest Preserve.
Orb hunting season 2025 has officially closed. However, there are still orbs on the loose. We do not collect any orbs that have not been found during the hunting season. If you are lucky enough to find an orb, it's yours to keep, but we ask that you only keep ONE orb, please. If you find another orb, please leave it where it is to be found by another seeker.
