WEAVING FOR THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED

In this condensed introduction to hand weaving you will weave a nice warm scarf. This concentrated weaving class is designed for those who are visually impaired or blind. Each step in the process will be verbally and tactually explained. You will learn how to measure your warp yarn and get it onto the floor loom. As you weave, you will experience the mystery and joy of seeing your fabric evolve. Upon advanced request, handouts and patterns will be provided in MS Word or large print for brailling. Returning students may complete an alternative project, to be discussed with the instructor in advance.
