In this class, we will learn to apply gold and silver leaf as a finishing touch to enhance our enamel pieces. Leaf is a very thin sheet of metal. It is secured to glass using a holding agent and is then fused to the glass as a final step. We will be using 23K gold and fine silver leaf. Each student will be given a sheet of leaf in each metal (approximately 3" x 3") as part of the materials fee. Additional leaf can be purchased from the instructor.
This is not a beginner class. Students should either have some experience with enameling in a kiln, or have taken the Intro to Enameling class.
Supplies: Two small containers (preferably glass) to hold scraps of leaf. Two smallish, very soft paint brushes that can be dedicated to applying leaf. Tweezers Scissors
