BRIOCHE 101: BASICS AND MORE
BRIOCHE 101: BASICS AND MORE
Brioche knitting is an increasingly popular technique that encourages knitters to learn how to “read” their knitting. This workshop is structured to demystify one-color brioche. This session covers all the basics including essential stitches, cast on and bind off as well as terminology. As time allows, we will cover increases, decreases and some troubleshooting brioche. Knitters should already know how to knit, purl, yarnover and knit two stitches together, how to choose appropriate yarn, how to perform two essential stitches, cast on, setup row, and bind off.
Supplies: For sampling, you will need a generous amount of yarn. A minimum of 50 yards of light colored, worsted weight wool/wool blend yarn avoid slippery yarns and variegated yarns. Bring a variety of needle sizes to accompany yarn size (i.e. US size 7-9 for worsted weight).
