BASIC IRON FORGING AND BLACKSMITHING PART 1
Learn the fine art of forge welding and techniques of blacksmithing, as well as some advanced processes and materials. This workshop will explore different types of metal-working processes used to produce decorative and functional items in iron. Work will focus on organic shapes in iron and copper. Some possible projects will include S hooks, metal punches or letter opener. This is a 1day, morning class, other sessions, (A,B etc.) are the same class offered on different dates. This class, is required for the Basic Iron Forging Part 2 class.
Supplies: Supplies: Bring to class a pair of leather work gloves, leather apron (if you have one), safety glasses are a must, comfortable leather work-shoes or boots (no sandals), cotton jeans or long pants (No shorts, sweats, cuffed pants, nylon/polyester anything), note taking materials, water bottle and bag lunch. You will be getting dirty, so dress appropriately. All other supplies and materials will be provided.
