Water-soluble pencils can be used in unique ways combining the look of both watercolor and colored pencil. Various techniques will be demonstrated that will allow you to produce a variety of results. We will experiment will both wet and dry techniques and the addition of regular colored pencil.
Supplies: Set of professional watersoluble colored pencils - set of 30 or larger. Some brands that are good: Caran d’Ache ( I have both kinds, they are rich in pigment and work great), Derwent (I also have these and like them) and Faber-Castell Paper that is mixed media or watercolor paper. Hot press paper has a smoother finish and probably best for detailed work and for adding regular colored pencil later. Pencil Eraser Watercolor brush, medium size with a nice point. Approx. a size 6 or 8 or whatever you have. It does not have to be the most expensive brush in the world but really cheap brushes are often frustrating to work with. 2 containers for water Cotton rag (better for environment) or paper towel Any other supplies you use when you do watercolor bring with you. Regular colored pencils if you have them Optional-Colorless blender pencil – lots of brands to choose from but I like Caran d’Ache
