BIKE BASKET WITH EMBELLISHED LEATHER STRAPS

In this collaboration class you will create a great basket for the front of your bike. In the first class you will explore the various ways to embellish veg-tanned leather with stamping & tooling techniques, leather painting and dying. You will also attach buckles to the leather straps so that you can strap your basket onto your bike. In the second class you will learn the basic basket base layout with start & stop rows, as well as a lashed rim. You will also create open spaces in the back for the leather straps to attach to your bike.


Supplies: please bring: tape measure, towel, snap style clothes pins, pencil/paper, hand towel, snack/lunch
