CERAMICS AND SURFACES - INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED

In this class, students will gain a strong foundation on throwing and hand-building ceramic vessels, while exploring techniques designed to personalize their basic pottery forms into unique works of art. Wheel throwing will focus on throwing mechanics while creating a variety of forms; Hand-building will focus on coil and slab construction to establish form. Secondary alteration will be strongly encouraged through various surface technique demonstrations. The main focus of the class will be on intermediate/ advanced projects to take your already established skills to the next level. If you are a beginner this class is not for you.


Supplies: Basic wheel throwing kit: throwing sponge, trimming tools, wooden ribs, needle tool, wire cutter, plastic garbage bags, looped carving tools.
